Build with Astrato
Astrato gives developers and AI agents a shared platform for building governed analytics experiences. Start with the workflow that matches what you want to deliver, then add the other capabilities as your application grows.
Choose a starting point
Section titled “Choose a starting point”| Goal | Astrato capability |
|---|---|
| Build a governed chart or dashboard | SDK and visualization packages |
| Explore and maintain governed data models | Semantic layer tools |
| Run approved analytical questions | Business questions |
| Connect an AI assistant | Nash MCP gateway and skills |
A reliable building workflow
Section titled “A reliable building workflow”- Connect to the correct Astrato tenant.
- Select a semantic layer and inspect its governed fields.
- Reuse a business question or define a visualization from those fields.
- Validate the result before presenting it to users.
- Preserve the tenant and semantic-layer context as users interact with the experience.
Keep credentials outside browser code and source control. Use the authentication method and deployment pattern approved for your Astrato environment.
What to learn next
Section titled “What to learn next”- Use the SDK when an application needs queries, selections, variables, metadata, or events.
- Use the visualization packages when an application needs governed chart definitions and rendering.
- Use MCP when an AI assistant needs to inspect or work with Astrato resources.
- Use Astrato skills to give an assistant stable workflow guidance for common tasks.
Can I combine these capabilities?
Yes. For example, an application can use the SDK to load governed metadata, render a visualization, and use MCP-backed agent workflows to help users explore the same governed business context.
